QPIDS 2025 Census Report

Published 12 October 2026

We are delighted to announce the publication of the 2025 QPIDS census report, providing a comprehensive overview of clinical immunology services across the UK and Ireland.

Since 2017, the QPIDS census has offered a unique insight into the evolving landscape of primary immunodeficiency services. The 2025 report explores key themes including consultant clinical immunologist workforce capacity, clinical trainee numbers, specialist nursing provision, allied health professional roles, immunoglobulin therapy delivery, hereditary angioedema (HAE) services, research participation, and trends in face-to-face and remote consultations following the COVID-19 pandemic. This year's report also introduces new areas of analysis, including genetic pathways and liver pathways, helping to broaden our understanding of service provision and emerging developments within the specialty.

The census enables services to benchmark themselves against national trends, identify opportunities for improvement, and support future workforce and service planning. The findings provide valuable evidence to inform discussions on workforce development, service sustainability, and the challenges facing immunology services across the UK and Ireland.

This report represents a significant collaborative effort. We extend our sincere thanks to Dr Sarah Goddard, Dr Rashi Joshi, Dr Will Bermingham and Harrison Obamwonyi for their expertise, analysis and contribution to the development of the report. We are also grateful to the services that submitted data and shared their experiences. Your continued participation makes this important benchmarking and quality improvement work possible and helps shape the future of immunology services.
